# How To Generate A Video

## Overview

Recraft supports video generation powered by a curated selection of leading AI video models. Users can generate videos from text prompts or use existing images as starting frames — all within the same canvas workflow used for image generation.

Video generation is available on **Pro plans** (new Pro plan, and legacy Pro 4K / Pro 8K plans) and **Team plans (all)**.

As of now, the video is accessible on Desktop and Android, with iOS availability rolling out soon.

# How to Access Video Generation

1. Open the chat prompt panel.
2. Click the “Image” control and switch to “Video.”
3. Now you can select a particular video model in the models selector
4. Type your prompt and generate a video

# Generation Modes

## Text-to-Video

Describe a scene, action, or concept in the prompt, and the selected video model will generate a video clip from scratch. This works similarly to text-to-image generation — the more specific and descriptive the prompt, the better the result.

## Image-to-Video

To create a video using images, you can simply select an image(s) on the canvas or upload one using the attachment option in the prompt panel (paperclip icon). Some models support the **first frame** and the **last frame** of the video. This is useful for animating a specific composition, maintaining visual consistency with existing assets, or extending a still image into motion.

# Working with Generated Videos

Generated videos appear as **video layers** on the canvas, just like images.

* **Play** the video directly on the canvas.
* **Download** by right-clicking the video layer and selecting **Download** from the context menu.
* **Reposition and resize** the video layer on the canvas alongside other assets

When generating or editing a video in Recraft Studio, you can interact with the project directly on the canvas.

**Tip:** When interacting with a public project, your cursor, along with your username, will be visible to others.

# Plan Requirements

Video generation is available on the following plans:

* **Any Pro plan** (new)
* **Legacy Pro 4K** and **Pro 8K** plans
* **Any Team plan** (legacy and new)

Video generation is not available on Basic or Free plans as well as on legacy Pro 1k plan.
