# Recraft AI - Features & Practical Information  

## 1. What Is Recraft?
Recraft is an AI-powered visual creation platform for individuals, teams, and developers. 
It produces and edits raster images, vectors, mock-ups, patterns, and more, and is available on desktop, iOS, and Android.

### Key Models  
* **Recraft V3 RAW** - latest text-to-image, vectorization, and in-image text renderer (about 10-15s per generation).  
* **Recraft V2** - earlier model for raster/vector generation and editing.

* Masking / Frame editing disabled for external models; change to Recraft model to enable.
* Transparent background currently unsupported in Upscale; workaround: upscale then re-remove BG.

* New users receive **100 free credits** at sign-up.  
* Each successful referral grants **+200 credits** to both referrer and invitee (invitee starts with 300 total).  
* Free-plan accounts are automatically replenished with **50 credits every 24 h**.  
* Additional credits can be earned by sharing your personal invite link.

### Credits Usage  
* 1-2 credits per image (raster 1, vector 2).  
* Creative Upscale = 20 credits.  
* Credits from paid plans reset monthly; top-up & referral credits never expire.  
* Limit: 100 API requests / minute; 10 concurrent jobs (UI).  

### Referral & Affiliate  
* Referral: +200 credits after invitee's first image (desktop).  
* Program temporarily paused (under revision).  
* No public affiliate scheme yet; proposals welcome at collabs@recraft.ai.

* **API units:** prepaid ($1 = 1 000 API unit); volume discounts: -20 % (more than 500k units), -30 % (more than 1M units).

Note: Credits do not roll over except referral bonuses and paid add-on packs. 
Every generation or tool action consumes credits (e.g., Creative Upscale = 20 credits).

* **Free plan** - creations are public, owned by Recraft, and restricted to non-commercial use.  
* **Paid plans** - creations are private; full commercial rights granted, user owns full copyright & may use commercially (marketing, packaging, resale, stock sites, etc.).. Always review the official Terms for edge cases.

### Generated Asset Usage & Model Training Policy
Generated assets may **not** be used to train other AI models.  
Recraft may use community images (opt-in) to improve its own models.

### Generate an Image
1. Open New Project and choose generation type.

### Create a Custom Style
1. In the style picker, click **Create style**.

### Use the Image Generation API
Recraft's API enables scalable creation of logos, icons, vectors, background removal, upscaling, and vectorization.

To purchase API units (desktop only):
1. Click Profile icon 
2. Select **API** in Profile menu.  
2. Select unit quantity, add payment, confirm.  
3. Units appear instantly.

Enable auto top-up:
1. Profile => **Manage Subscription** => set default payment.  
2. API section => **Enable auto top-up** => configure thresholds.

### In-painting Specific Areas
1. Generate or upload an image.  
2. Select it, click **Select** => choose Lasso, Brush, or Area.  
3. Mark the region and revise the prompt.  
4. Click **Modify area** and iterate.

## 17. Account Management

* **Cancel Subscription** - Profile => Manage Subscription => Cancel subscription (desktop).  
* **Delete Account** - Profile => Settings => Delete account (desktop or mobile). Deletion is permanent and non-refundable.

### Payments, Subscriptions & Refund Policy
* Stripe handles payments.  
* Subscriptions auto-renew on the calendar day of purchase.  
* Self-service: Profile ▶ Manage Subscription (desktop only) - cancel, switch plan, update card.  
* Refund eligibility (UI plans):  < 30 days since charge AND < 50 credits used.  
* API unit packs are non-refundable once purchased.  
* Account deletion automatically cancels any active subscription.  
* VAT collected automatically for EU/UK; invoices downloadable from receipt e-mails or **Manage Subscription**.
